A fifteen minute stop at the North Naples Wastewater Treatment Plant on Goodlette-Frank Rd. from 2:15 to 2:30PM today refound the Horned Grebe that had been previously reported by me over the last week or so. In addition, three Northern Shovelers were added to the mix of two Northern Pintail, 200 or so Hooded Mergansers, 75 Lesser Scaup and 25-30 Ring-necked Duck. Duck numbers are definitely increasing. Other birds seen were Palm Warbler, Belted Kingfisher, a dozen Least Sandpiper, two Spotted Sandpiper, Double-crested Cormorant, two Brown Pelican, Turkey Vulture, Anhinga, Snowy Egret, Great Blue Heron, Little Blue Heron, Great Egret along with many basking Soft-shelled Turtles. For directions to this location, please refer to my previous posts.
