While walking the south trail late this afternoon in Cape Florida SP (Baggs), I had the first small wave of migrating Northern Parulas for the season. In addition to the 2 wintering birds at their usual spots, there were 10-12 parulas. They are 6 and 3 days earlier than 2003 and 2002, respectively. Perhaps the recent weather gave them a push.
Pond #2 has enough water now to attract 25 Blue-winged Teal and a Woodstork.
