I forgot to mention in my last posting that I saw two, possibly three, GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS in the Ft. Myers area the week of the 18th (not sure how unusual that is). There was a 1st winter and an adult along the causeway out to Sanibel Island- I saw both birds on several occasions that week. I also saw an adult on the SE end of Sanibel on the beach just NE of the lighthouse- possible the same adult?
