Last winter it was the White-winged Scoter that I found that delighted many birders at this inland sewage plant and today, at around 4:15PM, I found a Horned Grebe there as well. The bird is associating with a raft of Lesser Scaup and frequently dives/feeds with them. Horned Grebes are uncommon this far south along the Gulf Coast in Collier County and virtually unheard of inland here. This is a new species for this site. A scope is pretty much required to see the bird well. The North Naples Wastewater Treatment Plant is located on Goodlette-Frank Rd. just south and between Immokalee Rd. aka CR846 and Vanderbilt Beach Rd. in Naples. Park well off of the bridge/overpass and walk up to the highest point on the bridge to scope out the ducks, etc. Here's a map:

Other birds/ducks present in the 30 minutes or so I was there are Hooded Merganser, Lesser Scaup, Cattle Egret, Snowy Egret, Double-crested Cormorant, Anhinga, Killdeer, Palm Warbler, Turkey Vulture and a few others.
