Started this morning at AD Barnes. There was some activity. The pond had Pied-billed Grebes, Coots and Moorhens. A dark Short-tailed Hawk was perched and offered a unique opportunity for observing instead of flying overhead like usual. Also had:

E. Phoebe
Blue-headed Vireo
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (FOS)
BG Gnatcatcher
N. Parula
Yellow-rumped Warbler (FOS)
Palm Warbler
Pine Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Worm-eating Warbler (a little surprised to see this one)
C. Yellowthroat

Afterwards went to scout Tropical Park since I usually do that park for the Christmas Count. I don't think I have birded there before otherwise. The Ring-necked Ducks I have seen there for the previous counts were not there. Entered from Miller Dr. and the lake had:

Pied-Billed Grebe
Anhinga
DC Cormorant (one caught a huge Walking Catfish and I am still amazed it was able to swallow it)
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Green Heron
Tricolored Heron
White Ibis
Domestic Muscovy
Osprey
both Vultures
Moorhen
Coot
Belted Kingfisher
Loggerhead Shrike
Palm Warbler
C. Yellowthroat
Red-winged Blackbirds

Stopped briefly by Indian Hammocks on the way home and added Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, a Red-shouldered Hawk and Kestrel.
