Several birders that will remain anonymous for obvious reasons searched for the Vireo without success this morning. As of 9:30 it had not been relocated. In fact, no vireo of any kind could be found, but someone did see a Prairie Warbler farther up the trail. We heard a vireo call from deep inside the brush, but it appeared distant that today's windy conditions did not help in this department. Yesterday, the wind was perfectly calm and the morning was on the cool side, with some low, slow-moving cloud cover, a perfect day to reminisce on days gone by spent in nature, when everything brought amazement, and the beauty of.....Ahhhh! What am I doing? Enough of that. The darn bird wasn't there today! Period.
