After camping at Flamingo Saturday night, I headed out to the Coastal Prairie Trail at sunrise. I easily had 2 Nelson's and 8 Saltmarsh's within 30 minutes. The birds will perch on top of the Salicornia. Bring your scope and digital camera as there is an opportunity for great shots!

To get to the spot, pass through the first Buttonwood hammock, turn right at the fork, pass through the second cluster of Buttonwoods and then take a right onto a small foot trail about 60-100 ft into the Salicornia as the area opens up. Then just wait, they will be popping up all over the place.
