At the end of a very pleasant morning with no true highlights, I noticed that the "serious" photographers were focused entirely on the Merlin catching dragonflies in the south central marsh. Behind them a gorgeous American Bittern flew low overhead for what seemed like a long time (for a Bittern) and landed right behind them. Of course, nobody saw this except me, and the bird did its best to blend in so no one could see it later ;) Wish I had been there in time for a shot! Green Cay is full of Phoebes and Pine Warblers, with several Sora singing as well. Yay Fall!
