I dropped by this park around 0930 this morning. Despite getting a late start warbler activity was above average. There were good numbers of certain species (Northern Parulas,Palm Warblers,Prairie Warblers and Black-throated Blues.) I also saw a male Painted Bunting, several Indigo Buntings and a White-crowned Pigeon. A Brown thrasher was taking a sand bath and there were Blue-gray Gnatcatchers galore. A pair of Blue/yellow Macaws flew directly over me. A number of Black-and-Whites were there as well as Pine Warblers and a couple of Eastern Phoebes. Catbirds were everywhere. Other birds were there as well. It was quite noisy with all the bird chirping going on! A nice Magnolia Warbler was spotted also.
