Today I saw my first green painted bunting in the yard. I was watching two spot-breasted orioles eating a balsam-pear fruit and she came over and ate one too. She so far has ignored the bird feeder. I know balsam pear is a weed, but the certainly birds do like it. So far I've seen besides the two birds mentioned, mockingbirds, black throated blue, and oddly a common yellowthroat pecking at them. Also most of the yard butterflies come to its flowers.
