This morning birded for a couple of hours. Not much variety of warblers. Had several Palm, Parula, Black-throated Blue (all females), Common Yellowthroats and 1 Tennessee. The underbrush had a few Gray Catbirds and female Painted Buntings while up above in the figs and oaks had several Scarlet Tanagers and 1 Red-eyed Vireo. Blue-gray Gnatcatchers all over the place. Flying overhead were Black and Turkey Vultures, 1 Kestrel and a Sharp-Shinned Hawk.
One tree had several Palm Warblers chatting incessantly at an immature Cooper's Hawk eating a squirrel. Funny to see a Ruby-thoated Hummingbird female fly right up to the hawk as it was eating to get a close view of things.
