A late morning-early afternoon expedition to Virginia Key produced at least a couple of thousand Palm Warblers. They littered the ground all over; I have never seen so many. Also in good numbers were Gray Catbirds. Other notable birds seen were Scarlet Tanager (one first fall male), Indigo Bunting, Peregrine Falcon (three "hanging out"), Short-tailed Hawk (one light-phase individual), and the resident Great Black-Hawk.
Nature IS awesome.
