I just got a report from a friend leading a course in Everglades National Park. She said she saw a Key West Quail-dove flying around an open field(?) as you enter the Flamingo area on main park road. She has banded many of them in the Dominican Republic and didn't know that they were such a big deal here in South FL...but after mentioning it to someone, she called me immediately to post it. The bird was not relocated- but given the weather could easily be hanging out in the vicinity.
Maybe some of the local Flamingo-heads can check it out....
