Continuing our in depth report on bird feeder appearances I ran an experiment today. And determined the following:

1. the brown thrasher always comes to the water not the seed

2. Painted buntings prefer safflower seed over millet, sunflower etc.

3. Now appearing daily three male PBuntings no females yet. One brown thrasher, one Bthroated blue warbler, three prairie warblers, one mockingbird, 35 bluejays (peanuts used to keep them away from the bunting area) and surprise...one tree rat. Cute little fella

And most important: it is not beyond doubt that when you do your birding at a feeder blind the ale/beer is always nearby and cold.
