On Dec 26, 2003, went out with a friend in Jonboat from Lakeport (Northwest corner of Lake O) BIRD WATCHING. About 10 miles to the south found 2 Purple Swamp Hens acting like Purple Gallinules on steroids. Have they been reported that far north before? I took video and still photos. Also 3 Snail Kites on 12-27-03 on 41 past large Mic village by half mile by yellow airboat shack no longer in use. One lone cypress tree just on north side of canal was where a kite would return with snails. Fun to watch!
