Had the day off so I went to my 3 favorite suburban parks, about an hour at each place. Didn't find an abundance of birds, maybe because of the windy weather.

Started first at Matheson (8:30-9:30 AM). The dogs were annoying at the service road and had dogs (not on a leash) rushing and snarling at me several times. Birded service road and oak grove by Fairchild Tropical. Had the following:

Oprey
Turkey Vulture
Broad-winged Hawk
Great Egret
Little Blue Heron
Tricolored Heron
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Blue Jay
Gray Catbird
BG Gnatcatcher
N. Parula
Black-throated Blue Warbler (female)
Prairie Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Redstart (female)
Common Yellowthroat
Ovenbird
Common Grackle
(Miracele that I had no cardinals, mockers or doves)

Then I headed to AD Barnes (10:15-11:15) and had the following:

Osprey
Merlin
Cattle Egret
Moorhen
Mourning Dove
White-winged Dove
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Blue Jay
Mockingbird
BG Gnatcatcher
Great Crested Flycatcher
N. Parula
Black-throated Blue Warbler (male)
Prairie Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Palm Warbler
Redstart (males and females)
Worm-eating Warbler
Red-winged Blackbird
(Again, no cardinals, did hear them in the distance)

Finally, birded Kendall Indian Hammocks from 1-2:30 PM. Had

Black Vulture
White Ibis
Mourning Dove
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Blue Jay
Red-eyed Vireo
White-eyed Vireo
Gray Kingbird
Western Kingbird
Eastern Kingbird
BG Gnatcatcher
Gray Catbird
Mockingbird
Palm Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Pine Warbler
Redstart (female)
Cardinals (finally)
