We also had our first of the season Painted Bunting this morning. He was accompanied by a male American Redstart, and a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.
I think this evening the same Painted Bunting and the male American Redstart returned, along with a female American Redstart, an Ovenbird, and a male Black-throated Blue.
I think the 2-4 Brown Thrashers that were with us most of the summer are gone.
Still waiting for the Hummers.
We live about three miles NW of The Falls shopping center.
