It was actually on the EAST side of Old Cutler - nonetheless, thanks for posting Trey.
We watched the bird for about 45 minutes, working the oak canopy with a feeding flock composed a of Yellow-throated Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Northern Parula, Palm and others. The birds remained in the vicinity about 50 yards north of the parking lot adjacent to Fairchild's main entrance.
It was indeed an adult male with nearly perfect breeding plumage except for a bit of wear showing on the throat, which from certain angles looked deceptively pale.
The oaks at Fairchild and Matheson had plenty birds, including several Tennessee's, Blackburnians, Black-throated Blues, Palms, Prairies, Redstarts, and many others.
We should wait for the official post from Bird Day's walks to get a full scope of the day's count.
