It's amazing how a single large fruiting ficus can attract birds during migration. There were birds all over the place in my yard this morning, highlighted by Chestnut-sided Warbler, 4 Cape May Warblers, 12 BT Blues (all female), a Summer Tanager, Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, Redstart, Prairie, and 5 Parulas. Meanwhile, an FOS male Painted Bunting was hiding in the top of a tamarind tree, 2 Red-whiskered Bulbuls in the top leaves of a mango tree, a Spot-breasted Oriole was singing, a Black-hooded Parakeet was on the wires near the canal, and to top it off was my yard's first-ever Nutmeg Manakin early in the afternoon.
