The Cuban Pewee was seen yesterday as well as today. Today it was
very frustrating as it rained on and off all day! The bird was heard at 7:00 a.m. near the residence building, by time we walked down to where it was, it started pouring rain. We barely had any periods today when it was not raining, despite being soaked, we finally got good looks around 3:00-4:00 p.m. a little past the fallen tree down from gate 3.
Beware, there has been an Eastern Wood-Pewee near gate 3. It has a nice full tail not molting like the Cuban Pewee's tail. It does not have the white behind the eye like the Cuban Pewee.
Other birds seen were, Summer Tanager, Veery, Baltimore Oriole, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Palm Warbler, Prairie Warbler, Ovenbird, Pine Warbler, American Redstart, Black-and-white Warbler, Northern Parula, Yellow-throated Warbler, Red-eyed and White-eyed Vireo.
