I recommend that you purchase the National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America. It's the field guide that I carry with me, and it's currently on sale at Borders for an incredible $5.99! A good field guide, along with joining us for TAS bird walks when you can, will improve your ability to identify many of these birds.
