White-winged Parakeet will be easier north of Miami International Airport.
It is easy to see them daily in the area of Miami Shores. To get to Miami Shores (where I live), take I-95 and exit off 95th street. Head east (do not be discouraged by the area, when you reach Miami Shores, it is very safe) for about 1 1/2- 2 miles and turn right on North Miami Avenue. Head south one block and keep your windows down. You can either drive down 94th street heading east, or park your car near the white fence on the east side of the avenue with the Canary Date Palms. Rock Pigeons and parakeets should be perched on the wires. Occasionally, atleast 100 or more White-winged Parakeets will be flying around the large tree near the Canary Date Palms. The tree has been recently trimmed. Walk down the alley a little, and keep an eye on the right for some feeders. There should be some parakeets in the area, but you will hear them first. If for some reason this fail, cruise down 95th street in Miami Shores with the windows down. Between 3-5 p.m. is best, but morning can be good. If for some reason you are not able to find these birds, check the rest of the area. The White-winged Parakeets outnumber the Yellow-chevroned Parakeets about 10-1, so picking them out will not be hard out of a mixed flock, even at far distances.
Let me know what dates you will be looking for them, because if you go to look for them there, I will be able to help. I live about 30 seconds away from the spot on 94th street.
Good luck... again!
