This morning on my biking commute in to work at FAU, I stopped at a place along the El Rio Trail where I've had some luck before. It was very slow and I was about to give up when I saw a curious bird on the powerlines above. I only saw the belly side but it was bright yellow with a grayish head and pointed bill. There was no black on the throat whatsoever. At one point it turned very slightly and I could see well defined wing bars. It was noticeably smaller than the mockingbird that landed near it. I'm pretty sure it was a female Orchard Oriole.
