I would not recommend trying to see them from land. I saw two this year from the end of Christian Point trail; the views were satisfactory (thanks to a wonderful scope (that I wish I owned)), but a canoe would be much much better from what I've heard. Also, LaPuma spending the night in a canoe is hilarious (the hardest I've laughed for days).
