I skimmed through some of your postings and noticed some of you are familiar with shorebird hotspots. I am the Education Specialist for the FL Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and will be organizing and leading a weekend educators workshop in February focusing on birds (as part of our Project WILD program). I love shorebirds and will be focusing a big portion of my program on them and teaching from the "Arctic Nesting Shorebirds" Curriculum (visit http://sssp.fws.gov/sssp.html for more info. I would like to take educators on a field trip to learn about shorebirds and how to identify them. Can any of you suggest some good places within the Palm Bch Co to Dade Co area to view a lot of shorebirds during the month of Feb.? Crandon Flats? Homestead - is this area open to the public and easily accsible for about 30 people? Any shorebirds experts out there willing to join us and help with identification I consider myself more an amateur and have trouble with those peeps. If you can help with any type of info please E-mail me at haynesl@gfc.state.fl.us! Thanks!!!!!
