On the 28th of November Wildlife Rescue of Dade County was called out to Evergaldes National Park to care for an injured Red-Shouldered Hawk. We frequently get RSH's from there so it did not seem at all odd. After having a good look at it I believe it is actually a Swainsons hawk. It had no apparent injuries but could not fly.
Our veterinarain prescribed two weeks of limited flight cage rest. It is now flying well and it is now ready to be released. We will be releasing it back at Flamingo on Saturday the 13th of December.
