I stuck to just observing birds since that was the primary objective for the day... Toe had his camera and I figured he could carry the extra equipment miles up and down the beach the first half of the day. So here are the PhoToes of some of the birds seen during the day. Toe thinks he must have deleted some of his photos somehow....I've done that a few times in the past....Chalk one up to experience! LOL
Bill ("Hey there's a Phalarope") Boeringer took the lead and drove the distance without a ticket, without running over a foot, without putting us into a canal or any other unpleasant event. He even waited till he got home to have a celebratory libation.....Oh, he also had some pretty good driving tunes for the long hauls between sites.
Thanks to Vince and Jose who chased all over south Florida with us and saw all but two on the list. The same goes to Angel and Mariel who actually saw 26 species because they saw a White-rump do a flyby. We had a great time with everyone involved and appreciated all the assistance from everyone out looking for shorebirds on Saturday who gave us information.
I look forward to next year s fall shorebird trip. It is one of my favorite TAS field trips...
