I'm just back from Maine. Guess there was a lot of rain this summer, because the place was like a jungle; even areas that used to be somewhat barren are now all grown up. I did not get a decent look at several small lurkers back in the shrubs, but had a few decent birds:
RB Woodpecker 2
Brown Thrasher 3-4
BG Gnatcatcher
Loggerhead Shrike 1
Northern Parula 2-3
American Redstart
Red-eyed Vireo
Painting Bunting 1 (apparently a molting male)
Plus lots of Cardinals, which I have yet to see at all in Maine, and a family (M/F, 5 young) of raccoons at the wet spot below the bridge; they just ignored me for several minutes.
