I was birding on the Areojet Road and through ENP. Nothing ya'll haven't seen many times but a nice little list for the afternoon.
Crows, of course little green h. barn swallows
common egret mourning doves red wing blackbirds
red sholdered hawk b.vulture boat tail grackles
osprey white ibis mockingbirds
t.vulture killdeer great blue h.
purple martins l.shrikes tricolor h.
anhinga E. kingbirds snowy egret
little blue h. cardinal starlings
barred owl palm warbler bluegray gnatcatchers
brown pelican ground doves
a small bird that's yellow on the sides and greygreen on the wings, back and tail. Never could see it's head in the leaves. Didn't notice wingbars or white anywhere. It was silent.
I watched a red sholdered hawk take a bath in a rain puddle. Just like the cardinals at the birdbaths in town. Three young ibis came there to get a drink. He froze til they left. One of them was kind of bossy to the others but they snuck drinks anyhow. The ibis were eating crawdads.
I also watched 5 or 6 manatees playing around in the boat basin at Flmaingo. Had a nice chat with some visitors from Belgium about them. They knew they were endangered and they were seeing something wonderful.
And a Cooper's hawk on the powerline just NE of Walmart in Fl City.
