Met up with Larry in the Lucky Hammock area ~7:00 this morning. Lucky Hammock had about as much as it's had the last couple of years - nothing! The ditch along the canal being constructed had a couple of shorebirds, but the puddle near the Annex has been partially filled and had nothing. The Annex had at least 6 Alder Flycatchers, but few warblers. Only L. Waterthrush, Prairie, and Parula. Some Eastern Kingbirds and a couple of Great Crested Flycatchers as well.
The field to the north before 217 had some Black-bellied Plovers, Pectorals, and 4 Upland Sandpipers. By the tower on 217 and the main road there was a large flock of cowbirds that had one male Shiny in the mix.
The C-111E area had nothing.
I finished at Cutler Wetlands where a nice surprise were 4 American Avocets. Water levels are still too high for just about anything else, except maybe a Sauropod.
There were waves and waves of Swallows heading south, mostly Barn but I did spot one each Bank and Cliff. I think this is mostly what the radar is picking up. Sure ain't warblers.
