At the intersection of s.w. 94 st. and 69 ave. in the city of Pinecrest, there has been a beautiful adult male Rufous Hummingbird. This is the second year that it has been present, last year it was an immature. The bird has been feeding in the two Powder Puff trees with red flowers at this intersection along with at least two Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.

Today at Matheson Hammock at the swimming lagoon there was a Bonaparte's Gull. Out in the bay from here was an immature Northern Gannet flying about 1/4 mile from shore. Both birds are pretty uncommon in these locations.
