Today at Anhinga Trail

This morning at Anhinga Trail, while leading a birding trip for Ms. Sandin's 6th grade class from Richmond Heights Middle School, the following were seen:

2 light-phase Short-tailed Hawks
1 Swainson's Hawk (being mobbed by American Crows)
1 American Bittern (has remained in the same area the last two days, on the left just after the bridge)
1 Limpkin (in the wet area on the right just before the bridge)

Plus: Anhinga (one pair beginning to nest), Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Green Heron, White Ibis, Turkey Vulture, Black Vulture, Eastern Phoebe, and Palm Warbler.
