This morning, I visited the Long Pine Key area in Everglades National Park, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Western Spindalis reported by Roger Hammer last month. No sign of the spindalis; while there I saw and/or heard the following:

Mourning Dove
Great Horned Owl (heard only)
Common Nighthawk
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Piliated Woodpecker
Great Crested Flycatcher
White-eyed Vireo
Blue Jay
American Crow
Barn Swallow
Brown-headed Nuthatch
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Eastern Bluebird
Northern Mockingbird
European Starling
Northern Parula
Pine Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Eastern Towhee
Northern Cardinal
Eastern Meadowlark
