After the first day, I did not visit Jetty Park or Viera. That will be tomorrow. However, I did see some notable birds today along the area near Jetty Park. The beachs here are full of large waves and the water depth is deeper closer to shore than in Miami, bringing a few Northern Gannets. The coastal area is good for American Oystercatcher, but none were seen. The only shorebird besides Killdeer are a few Sanderlings. The beaches are full of gulls, more than I have ever seen away from a dump. Herring Gulls are very common, as are Ring-billed Gulls and Laughing Gulls. a Lesser Black-backed Gull was also present. Reddish Egret, Lesser Scaup, Roseate Spoonbill, and American White Pelican were seen aswell. Yellow-rumped Warblers are ever increasing, and Palm and Prairie are here.

It appears there are a few Pochard species besides Lesser Scaup out on the bay. They are either Redhead or Canvasback. I will investigate the area tomorrow, as I need both for my Florida lsit, and Canvasback for my life bird. I forgot to mention I saw 3 Sandhill Crane on two occasions. Osprey are very common. Please Paul post your results tonight for the trip you had today with directions to any good birds. I need the Ross's Goose and Snow Goose of course, and the Click Pond American Golden Plover will be a nice life bird. Any other good shorebirds in the area? I need American Avocet and Marbled Godwit ;)
Thanks for you help, Jill.
