The two of us headed out from Lake Worth at about 6:45 this morning to do a half-day of birding. While our goals were for a scrub-jay and Bachman's sparrow at Savannas Preserve Park and surrounding reliable areas, we dipped on them. We did see some other good stuff later on in the day. 47 species total- with the highlight being at the Ft. Peirce jetty south of the inlet State Park. We saw 5 species of tern within that area (common, sandwich, royal, gull-billed, and least). Also, a juvenile brown booby was sitting on the jetty the whole time we were there, allowing us to come within 8 feet of it (we didn't try to get closer, although I'm sure we could have).
Cheers,
-Andy
