I spent the morning looking for shorebirds. Brown's Farm Rd, the first bridge is the best spot just now. All the usual suspects including 15 Solitary Sandpipers (not all together), 2 dozen Dowitcher sp. still with color. One flock of about 30 peeps flew by and 4 of the birds had distinctly white rumps. The flock joined a Duda-sized cloud of birds in the distance, that I couldn't locate on the ground. Very approachable Common Nighthawks on the road.
I stumbled onto a new (to me) area on 880 about 3 miles west of the intersection with 80/441. It's STA 1W and had two gigantic mudflats. Nothing today but moorhens, but this should be promising as the season progresses.
