Inspired by Paul's great exotics trip yesterday, I roosted at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Miami Springs for the hour before dusk, awaiting events. Dozens of Monk Parakeets kept me entertained; two carried nesting material. I presume they maintain their nests year-round? Several Amazon parrots flew over, but they were insufficiently cooperative in the matter of field marks. I was able, however, to get great looks in flight at two Yellow-chevroned Parakeets and three Chestnut-fronted Macaws. Also valuable was the opportunity to compare White-winged Dove, White-crowned Pigeon, Eurasian Collared-Dove, and
Mourning Dove.

Good birding,
Susan
