Fellow Neapolitan and birder Pete Thayer (yes, THAT Pete Thayer of Thayer birding Software)and I are planning a day trip out to Dinner Island Ranch WMA & afterward the Palm Beach County sod farms on Saturday, July 31st. We're planning to leave my house in Naples at 5:00AM to be at Dinner Island Ranch sometime shortly after daybreak to try for the King Rails and other early birds. Then it will be on to palm beach County to check out the sod farms and the Barn owls, etc. along the Miami Canal. Is anyone else planning on going out to any of the locales I mentioned, especially Dinner Island Ranch? If so, please email me. Perhaps we all can hook-up and bird together. Pete has never been to Dinner Island Ranch and has only been out to the Palm Beach sod farms once when I took him there last year. I want this to be a "memorable" fieldtrip for him so the more eyes the merrier. . . .
