Yeah, I heard. I'll do a lot less "spur of the moment" birding there. I am within walking distance of Indian Hammocks so will be going there more. If that is what is required in order to keep the parks open, so be it I guess. I like AD Barnes too much, especially for migrant warblers, vireos etc..., for me not to keep going.

I am more annoyed by AOU name changes!! The thing I hate most about the whole birdwatching thing. Great Shearwater? What was wrong with Greater Shearwater? Also miss Louisiana Heron, Common Gallinule, Rufous-sided Towhee (are there integrades with Spootted Towhee?), might really be just a subspecies) and others.

If genetic testing proves that species are different, I can live with that, but I am not so convinced that different songs (ex. Pacific vs Winter Wren) necessarily makes a different bird. Maybe it is all just for selling updated Bird Guides. I guess I am not much into splitting, more of a lumper. Sorry about all this, now I can get off my soap box.
