Paddy,
That was me. I knew I qualified when the last time I went swimming someone threw in a head of lettuce to me and stuck a garden hose in the water. As far as Uncle Joe's Fish Camp head north on US 27 and turn right (east) at the sign. It is before the big bridge over the Caloosahatchee River before you enter the town of Moore Haven.
Uncle Joe s Fish Camp
This off-the-beaten path getaway along Lake Okeechobee is surrounded by thousands of acres of sugar cane fields on three sides, and sits right next to the Herbert Hoover Dike. Established in the 1940s by the Griffin family, Uncle Joe s Fish Camp is one of those down home spots that anglers and duck hunters come back to on family outings from generation to generation. No frills, no fuss just good fishing and a cold beer afterwards.
The camp, which has basic cabins as well as RV and tent sites, includes ramp access to the Rim Canal near Liberty Point, and the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail runs right through it. Each cabin has TV, air-conditioning, and heat, and comes fully equipped with dishes and linens.

Life is good.................anytime the Marlins go on a winning streak. By the way I still have to pay $7 for a beer, making tailgating a pre-game imperative..
