This afternoon there were a half dozen Stilt Sandpipers, in alternate plumage, along with about a dozen each Lesser Yellowlegs and Short-billed Dowitchers. Water levels are flirting with disaster, as just one rain event will push the level above shorebird range. A few days without rain and the levels would be just right for shorebird migration, which is well underway.
