The Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival in Titusville was big success with many good birds seen. Here are some good comparison photos of an American Golden-Plover side by side with a Black-bellied Plover. There is a Dunlin in one of the photos as well.

This photo shows a Black-bellied Plover on the left with an American Golden-Plover on the right. Look at the smaller slimmer bill on the American Golden-Plover as well as the browner look, not gray like the Black-bellied Plover. Also look at the stripe above the eye on the American Golden-Plover, this is much more pronounced. The Black-bellied Plover stands squatter and is plumper while the American Golden-Plover stands more erect and is slimmer overall.

This shot show two American Golden-Plovers on each side of a Black-bellied Plover.

All of these photos were digiscoped using my video camera; my camera takes 1.3 megapixel stills that are not great but good enough to show what needs to be seen.

For those who live in the area or who are traveling there, be sure to bird the Click Ponds by the Viera Wetlands. There are many, many shorebirds present because of the low water level. With some good coverage other rarities may be found.
