The Downey woodpeckers are "laughing" their way through the tree tops at Hoechoka Hammock.

The mottled ducks are gone for the season. The osprey too, have left for the season.

The Brown Thrasher nest failed for the 2nd time.

The fish crow, grackles, and blackbirds know how to track the nests and get eggs or chicks.

The mockingbirds have had a very good year and the bluejays also. Crying fluttering babies are all around.

It is hot, humid, and plain sultry. Soon, soon fall and winter.
