Hey birders! Today I went to Tamiami trail airboat rides. Before entering the boat a I had a Snail Kite(lifer) soaring around. Do these kites usually soar? The boat ride was great with 5 crocadiles inches away from you. The place also had a small walk. I went and saw 5 species of warbler. I saw American Redstart(adult male), Black and white, Palm, Prairie and Ovenbird. Other birds of interest were:
Anhinga
Double-crested Cormorant
Red-shouldered Hawk: 3
American Kestral: 13!
Merlin: 1
Osprey: 1
Black Vulture: 6
Turkey Vulture: to many ot count
Belted Kingfisher: 2 FOS
Loggerhead Shrike: 6
btb warbler: 2 at my house
It's been a great day! Like Paul says: Life is good....... knowing that American Kestrals are in abundance.
