You guys are such weenies. I was out there yesterday morning photographing for a new South Florida native tree ID guide and never saw, nor heard, a single mosquito at Anhinga Trail nor along the Long Pine Key Nature Trail. There were several bobwhites in the lawn area next to the first parking space past the campground turnoff, and lots of meadowlarks along the main park road. Anhinga Trail was quiet, bird-wise, but lots of baby gators. I checked the area where the western spindalis nested last year, to no avail, but quite a few Eastern bluebirds and some downy woodpeckers.
