Don't know about the areas farther south, but I've spent a couple of mornings in the Research Road/Hole-In-The-Donut area. Mosquitoes are almost non-existent. Maybe the odd one or two at dawn. Biggest nuisance are the deer flies. They buzz a lot more than they bite, but when they crash into you it feels like getting hit by a rock. Haven't had any no-see-ums.
