Here in Palmetto Bay a pair of Cooper's Hawks have nested in my neighbor's yard two years in a row. Last year two young fledged and I watched them all summer. This year one yound bird fell out of the nest on June 5. My neighbor had called the rehab center at the Museum of Science. Someone came out and took the baby hawk back to the rehab center. They brought it back the next day, climbed up the tree, and put the young bird back in the nest. It has been quite vocal for the past few weeks, calling to be fed by the parents. It finally fledged on Monday and makes its rounds from tree to tree around my house and neighboring homes.
