Though water levels are still high, birds are starting to return to Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park. A visit this morning with Patrick Cure's class from Ruben Dario Middle School produced the following:

King Rail - taking a noontime stroll across the trail
Purple Gallinule
Osprey
Red-shouldered Hawk
Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Great Blue Heron
Tri-colored Heron
Green Heron
Great Egret
Anhinga
Double-crested Cormorant
Red-bellied Woodpecker
American Crow
Eastern Phoebe
Northern Mockingbird
Palm Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
