I heard then saw a pair of White-winged Parakeets in Miami Shores at 2:45 pm today. I figured I'd report on this species, as it is becoming harder to locate. I believe they have moved to another location southwest of Miami Shores, where they are still present, but in much smaller numbers than in recent years.
On NE 94 Street and between NE 1 and 2 Avenues is where they flew south-north. The best bet for visiting birders is to buy a coffee from the Starbucks on 95th street and 2nd Avenue, commit to the entire afternoon, and wait for fly-bys. Red-masked Parakeets were in the area, and I'm sure Spot-breasted Orioles are in the area.
