With the arrival of Painted Buntings, I'm posting this reminder. In March 2003, Rock Jetty and I each came across evidence of wild birds being trapped along Krome Avenue south of Kendall Drive. It's not a good idea to bird alone in that area. Further, should you see any suspicious activity, get license plates if possible, leave all evidence at the scene and head to your car. Drive away, but know your mileage point. Then call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. I've only got the cellular way to reach them at either #FWC or *FWC. Do obtain a case number when reporting anything, and follow up with the FWC to determine the outcome.
